SAVAGES: LA Premiere Blake Lively

Blake Lively who has told the Press in the past that she doesn’t use a stylist, made a beautiful statement at the Savages LA Premiere, where she chose figure-hugging gown by Zuhair Murad. She finished her look with an old Hollywood retro curls.

Complexion: Blake gave great face with a nice glowly complexion, your can get this look, by using a tinted moisture that give enough coverage as well as provide SPF. A great tinted moisturizer on the market is Laura Mercier, if you can’t find a color the NARS tinted moisturizer has an array of colors for every skin tone. Use your hands when applying tinted moisturizer to get the best coverage.

Eyes: To achieve Blake’s’ eyes use a shade of eye shadow that is very close to your skin tone. One of my personally favorites is Urban Decay’s Vanilla because it gives a bit a brilliance while showing your skin. Don’t skip on the lashes or be sure to pile on a great volume giving mascara. Bigger the brush, the more volume your lashes will get.

Cheeks: You want to keep the cheeks light, so use a color like Madly From NARS Cosmetics, which is a nice, brown pink.  Place Luxor multiple stick from NARS Cosmetics on the cheekbones as a highlighter.

Lip: Blake chose a nice red orange like NARS Heatwave that completes her look and gives her skin a bronze look.

Rihanna US Premiere of Battleship

Get the Look

I saw this last week(a few weeks ago) and it caught my eye, Rihanna has her up's and downs in fashion, but her make up is typically dead on!! See her look for the U.S. premiere of Battleship, which came in 2nd place to the Avengers ! Not a bad start.

Skin: Choose a foundation that matches your skin tone. I personally LOVE for it to be dead on specially in the spring time. Its a great way to start any look. After applying foundation, place Too Faced Candlelight on the forehead, cheek bones and maybe a little on the eye lids. 

Eyes: Place a eye shadow base on both lids and place a little bit of highlight that we used to highlight our skin on the lids. Complete look with a waterproof black eye liner. 

Urban Decay in Perversion, which gives a matte black with zero shine. 

Lips: Smashbox Be legendary in True Red, which is a nice red that blends well on any skin.

One thing that we all do this time of year is make resolutions! No matter if you love them or hate them, we all do. When a New Year rolls around it’s a time to renew and try to change those things that we improve about ourselves. Well its 2011 and its It’s all about bringing yourself out of your box!!

  Let’s Talk Beauty!

1. Open Your Eyes, Get a New Eye Liner

I suggest a medium purple, I know what you are thinking, trust me this will work!!  No matter what Complexion Diva you are this will bring out your eyes. Its just something about a nice egg plant or richer that will open and brighten up the eye. Everything isn’t Black and Brown!!

2. Everything Faux Ain't Bad, Every Girl needs a Pair of Falsies

Faux eyelashes are a great way to brighten up your eyes. As well as give your look a little DRAMA.  I know that a lot of our Beauties are getting their lashes professional done, which is great, just know when to stop!! J It’s becoming an epidemic where the lashes are being piled on where they look unflattering and fake!! (Sorry that is such a pet peeve) However you choose to do it is fine. I personally like to place them on myself and take them off at night. Plus you can use them again when its time to go out.

3. Brighten up Your Face, Blush is your Friend

I will be the first to confess, that I use to feel that blush was optional. In the Great voice of one of my fellow artist Catalina, “Blush is number one and the more the better!!!”  Blush is just a way of adding color to your face and balancing out your entire look. Blush just like everything else comes in many textures. If you have dryer skin, then I would lean towards a cream or a mousse. Young skin can use just about any kind, even the stains that are growing in popularity. If you wear blush try a new color, step out of your box. Try a blush with a little sparkle if you are use to a matte.

Yes, blush is for everyone! Godiva Divas, I am talking to you too! Believe it or not there is a blush for everyone, even the ones who feel that they can’t find their perfect color.  

4. Conceal your Imperfections, Concealer is the Key to Perfection

Concealer is your answer to getting your perfect look. There are a few powder concealers out there, but I tend to lean towards creamy texture concealer.  Creamy concealers cover more of the imperfection without becoming cakey and false. Depending on your needs, will determine the type of concealer that you will love. There are concealer that brighten, waterproof, hydrate etc. So it’s going to aide the skin as well as give you instant perfection.

5. Scrub the Day Away, Exfoilate

One mistake that Beauties tend to forget is to exfoliate. Its mandatory! Sometimes when your foundation isn’t wearing as well or you feel that you just look blah. Nine times out of ten, a quick exfoliation will totally change your look. Depending on your skin, will determine how many times a week you can complete the process. Sensitive skin Beauties may chose to exfoliate once a week and be careful not to choose a harsh one. Typical Beauties will tend to exfoliate, twice a week. Personally, I like to exfoliate two to three times a week. Remember, that I am super duper oily and I need to remove dead skin more often to keep from getting pimples. So I tend to lean towards ones that have sugar in them so I can feel the graduals. I know, I’m so wired, but if it tingles that’s even better.

I have to admit that I love Thanksgiving and Christmas for more reasons than you think? I LOVE it because that when all of the cosmetic lines introduce their Holiday kits for us to fall in love with. You know as well as I do, that this is like bringing a fat kid to a cake shop!!! YES, I said it and its true, you can go into overload and you must compose your self and count to 5 1…2…3…4…5 okay, I’m not dizzy anymore! J It’s just too much!!!!!

I have to admit that there are a lot of kits that I super excited about. What I’m going to do it just show you a few of the ones that I was able to drool over.

MAKE UP FOR EVER:  Their best of kits is one of the best kits out there!

Why? because you are able to touch all of their best selling products for half the cost. Leader of the pack is the Microfinish powder, its TRANSULANT, which means everyone can wear it! Your porcelain Princess as well as your Godiva Girls! Please do get me started on the double duties for this! Aqua Eye number 0L hands done one of the best waterproof pencils in the market!! Its goes on creamy and its stays!!! Smoky Lash: fabulous mascara that will give volume, length and conditions your lashes so they are damaged. And last but not least a mini Sens Eyes, which is their make up remover for everyone nit just people with contacts. This stuff will take off waterproof anything and won’t leave the skin oily. Trust as an oily and a blind girl (contacts are need for everything) I take great pride in using this product.

Tarte: What can I say about this all in one kits? You are able to get a full face in one beautiful compartment and get a jazzy necklace to wear to the good club!! You get 32 eyes hadows, 8 lip glosses, 5 eyeliners, one of their popular bronzer, and a shimmer powder. Park Avenue Princess, which is one of the best bronzers on the market, because it provides shimmer without making you look like a 3^rd grade science project on those days you are in a rush and may not quite land all the product where it needs to be.

Too Face: They never let us down in the kit department. They constantly provide us with kits to sample their products. In this Pixie Pin up kit is great because once again you get the cult favs with some newbies! One of their popular products Shadow Insurance eye shadow primer, 6 eye shadows, Lava Gloss Eyeliner and Lash Injection Pinpoint mascara.


Urban Decay: Naked Palette, of course getting your hands on this is what will be the challenge! This palette is a one-stop shop, which means you can make yourself beautiful looks with just this one palette. Don’t say too many bad words because I did hear that they will be adding it to their permant line!  In this kit, we get 5 new shades and you a get a few of your trusty favorites. You a get wide range neutrals and more sultry colors. You also get the cult favorite award-winning 24/7 eyeliner in Zero (black) and Whisky (brown) and last but not least a small bottle of Primer Potion.

Bliss: I have to admit that I am very biased with Bliss! Because they have the best body product known to man!!!!! No REALLY, anything that can help my thighs from via Fat Girl Slim!! Yes!!! And I am doing sprit fingers lol

Any who!!!~ Why I want you all to look at these kits because you are able to get the most bang for your dollar! Right now they have regular size Body Butter and Body wash. My personal favorite is the Blood Orange; it’s just something about the scent that makes me feel awake in the morning.
